Build it DTM Community Care is about more than supplying quality building materials and serving customers every day. It is about investing in the wellbeing of our neighbourhoods, supporting local initiatives, and taking practical steps to improve the communities we call home. Recently, our team undertook a project aimed at addressing deteriorating road conditions affecting residents, motorists, delivery vehicles, and businesses in the surrounding area.

Build it DTM Community Care: Addressing Neglected Roads

Over time, several roads within our community had become increasingly damaged due to wear, weather conditions, and a lack of maintenance. Small cracks developed into larger potholes, creating hazardous driving conditions and causing growing frustration among residents.

For many motorists, navigating these roads had become a daily challenge. Drivers often needed to slow down suddenly, swerve around damaged sections, or use the opposite lane to avoid deep potholes. During rainy periods, water accumulated inside these holes, making them difficult to identify and increasing the likelihood of vehicle damage.

Residents also experienced the impact. Poor road conditions affected accessibility, delayed deliveries, created traffic congestion, and contributed to a sense of neglect within the neighbourhood.

Build it DTM Community Care in Action

Rather than simply observing the problem, the Build it DTM team decided to take action.

Our team visited affected areas and assisted in repairing several potholes that had become a significant inconvenience for local residents and motorists. Using available resources, we worked to improve sections of road that had deteriorated over time and restore safer driving conditions for everyone who uses these routes.

While these repairs may not solve every infrastructure challenge facing the community, they demonstrate what can be achieved when businesses take an active role in supporting the people around them.
