Build It DTM Community Care: Supporting Actonville During the Water Shortage

At Build It DTM, we believe that being part of a community means being there when people need support most.

Recently, residents of Actonville faced a difficult water shortage, with many households going without running water for five days. With no water available for essential household needs, our team stepped in to assist by distributing approximately 3,000 litres of borehole water from our own borehole to members of the community.

Helping With Essential Household Needs

Going without water for several days can make everyday life extremely difficult. Basic tasks such as flushing toilets, cleaning and maintaining household hygiene quickly become a major challenge.

Through our Build It DTM Community Care initiative, we distributed around 3,000 litres of borehole water to residents in Actonville to help ease some of these difficulties.

The water distributed was intended strictly for sanitation and household cleaning purposes and was not suitable for drinking.

While it could not replace the normal municipal water supply, it provided much-needed assistance to families who had been without water for several days.

Supporting the Community When It Matters

Build It DTM may be known for hardware and building materials, but our commitment extends beyond the products we sell.

Actonville is part of the wider community we serve, and when residents face difficult circumstances, we believe in doing what we can to help.

By making water from our borehole available to the community, we were able to provide approximately 3,000 litres of water for sanitation use, helping residents manage some of the everyday challenges caused by the prolonged water interruption.
